Welcome

Thanks for visiting Remove Before Flight. This blog has been intended to cover anything about remote controlled models in particular flying ones such as helis and planes.

Like countless other rc blogs or websites, stuff that you may find (in the near future hopefully) on this blog are my inventory of course :), build tips, modifications, upgrades, general info, pic galleries, techniques and other stuff that I think are related to this blog.

Do bare with me as I try to update this blog as often as I could. Once again, thanks for visiting and see you at the field. Fly safe!

Update: New transmitter

Got the JR DSX9 from CH Hobbies at $926 (tx + rx + batts + charger)...

In general:

The overall quality is much better than my old dx7. More functions (extra 2 channel and 3 mixes). More solid feel. Easy and fast programming. And its twice the resolution.

Issues:

I was used to having the flight mode switch on the left and throttle hold on the right. the dsx9 had them the opposite side. 3 days after flying with it, off came the back plate and i swapped and rewired the switches to what i was used to.

pro:

1. build, quality and feel more exclusive than dx7
2. 2048 resolution
3. throttle hold delay
4. individual dual rate for aileron, elevator and rudder ie. left right up down
5. 140 deg swash plate program is available
6. built in gov function
7. timer activation via one of the toggle switch
8. easy and fast programming
9. 5 flight modes
10. extra this and that eg. 3 gyro gains, 3 expo rates, 3 dual rates etc.. dx7 only two of each
11. more mixes (havent touched this yet)

cons:

1. top switches are placed opposite to dx7 (changed them already)
2. switches not 100% assignable
3. thats it

conclusion:

if you thinking of upgrading your dx6 or dx7, this is not a bad choice. highly recommended for those with lots of dsm2 equipped fleet.
